The girl behind the camera
People say I am naturally artistic. And I kind of agree with that: all my passion and talents are in the arts. I graduated with a music degree playing the piano, I do lettering and graphic design in my free time, and I love going around everywhere with my camera.
But photography is the ultimate calling. My creative outlet.
It has been part of me since I was in grade 5 when I bought my first point-and-shoot camera (I know, such a hipster), and I am so grateful for the opportunities that allow me to turn my passion into my profession.
This girl is adventurous. I don’t like to always stick to just one routine because my brain will scream for novelty and creativity. I enjoy witnessing the love stories of marrying couples as much as photographing portraits around the city. And although home is in Toronto (right now), I am a big traveller and I love documenting the journey with my camera.
I value genuineness, both in my work and as a photographer. I love capturing joyous emotions, and I also strive for being a friend when the camera is down. Even though my MBTI says I'm a big introvert, I still appreciate getting to know people and I want to make you feel like your best self.
On days that I am not shooting, you'll find me having coffee all the time! There’s a joke among my friends that says “when there’s Katherine, there’s caffeine” and it’s actually true. I also hang around at church worship quite a bit!
Some more fun THINGS about me
DID YOU KNOW
Penguin is my absolute favourite animal! I had a baby penguin keychain on my camera bag for many years (his name is Austin), and this little guy has been through all the photography journeys with me. If you don't notice already, there's a little penguin peeking out on my logo, that's in honour of my pengy!
